Epilogue at Last

Journal Entry: Sun Jun 29, 2008, 3:42 AM
So I quite agonized over this epilogue - namely, whether I should even write it, given the joy at the last line of the previous chapter. If I'd known what a big hit it was going to be, I would have left it there! LoL. But, here's the epilogue anyway. I promised after all.

Included in the author's notes are a few details about my next story called "Beside You in Time". I think it's going to be fun. Especially (and here's something only for those that read my journal) since I'm in London right now and Sesshoumaru and Kagome will definitely be heading to the UK quite early in the story. :) You'll see! It'll be fun, I think!

Speaking of the UK, does anyone watch Doctor Who? I don't usually use this phrase, but OMG, WTF??? I won't spoil it for you, but this cannot go well. *sobs*

P.S. Why can't anyone change their moods on journals anymore? I would go for a "relaxed" mood, since there's not one for "trying to be relaxed until Saturday night but failing kinda, sorta".

  • Mood: Euphoric
  • Listening to: London traffic
  • Reading: Mystery novels I stole from my mother for the trip
  • Watching: Doctor Who
  • Eating: Fish and chips ;)
  • Drinking: Cider and wine, all the time!

Yay! Computer! Chapter!

Journal Entry: Mon May 26, 2008, 8:13 PM
I have my beloved MacBook back. :D :D :D :D :D It lacks several programs still, but I'm SO happy that I don't have to share a computer with my husband anymore.

Also, if you haven't noticed, I've posted the newest (and penultimate) chapter of The Once and Future Taiyoukai! Thank you for your patience with this! I appreciate all your support! :)

And a big, BIG thanks goes to :iconkikyounokanashii: who gave me a link that saved all my music. :D

  • Mood: Euphoric
  • Listening to: My music again! Mostly NIN :)
  • Reading: Villette by Charlotte Bronte
  • Watching: Doctor Who - come back sooner, Rose!
  • Playing: Mario Kart Wii

Update on the computer front

Journal Entry: Sat May 10, 2008, 3:46 PM
Unfortunately, everyone, my hard drive is gone. The tech guy at the Mac store couldn't even see it, thus dashing our hopes that it was just a corruption of the OS. I'm really bummed about it - I'm losing a lot of stuff that I foolishly didn't back up, but nothing irreplaceable, thank goodness.

So I'm going to have to restart the chapter. Thank you to whoever suggested that I use Google Documents - that's a really great suggestion for my more valued documents. Also, my husband will be getting me an external hard drive to back up my computer from now on, so that if this ever happens again, the losses will be far less severe. I'm going to be the back-up queen.

Thanks for all the support though! I hope to be back up and running like usual in about a week or so, which is when I'll be getting my Mac back with a brand new hard drive. Until then, communication with me will be limited. I will still try to post sooner than that though, so never fear.

On the positive side of things, I do have an idea for another Inuyasha story. More details on that later.

Bad News, Kids

... my computer just died. And I do mean JUST. I called Apple Support and I need my install disk before I know if my hard drive is SALVAGEABLE or not. SALVAGEABLE, people. This is not good. And I darn sure hope it is because I have every word of the next chapter for The Once and Future Taiyoukai on that hard drive. I worked my little butt off on it yesterday and was close to done. I'm normally not one that does this but AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

*sigh* I wish that made me feel better. The thing is that the documents are (mostly) replaceable and the programs can be re-installed (I hope), but I do not have any back-up for my kajillion songs. Does anyone know how to use an iPod to upload several gig of music back onto a computer? Is that possible?

I'm just hoping that my hard drive can be saved. Either way though, the update is going to take much longer than I originally thought. As it is, I'm typing this journal on my husband's computer. If the computer problems aren't resolved by Saturday, I'll use this computer to start from scratch again.

I miss my Mac already...

  • Mood: Miserable
  • Listening to: NOTHING because my music is all GONE

Tagged and Sent Back Into the Wild

Journal Entry: Sat Apr 26, 2008, 5:50 PM
I'm in the middle of finals (hence the no update yet - don't worry finals are over in less than a week), but I just got back from one and don't want to start studying for the next one just yet. So I'm doing this, just for fun. :)

* 1. Post these rules.
* 2. Each tagged person must post 8 things about themselves on their journal.
* 3. At the end, you have to choose and tag 8 people and post their icons on the same journal.
* 4. Go to their pages and send a message saying you tagged them.
* 5. No tag-backs.

1) I'm married to my high school sweetheart. No, he wasn't quarterback and I wasn't head cheerleader - we were both geeks and still are!

2) I want to learn two things before I die - how to fence and how to play the piano.

3) I have an encyclopedic knowledge of fairy tales, Victorian novels and Buffy. :P

4) I hate diet soda... unless there's rum in it.

5) I prefer old movies and my walls are slowly filling with old movie posters of Marilyn, Audrey and others.

6) I "talk" to my dog in basic sign language because he's deaf. I also talk to him out loud, even when we're alone. My friends think this is both weird and hilarious.

7) I have a passion for high fashion, but I wear a t-shirt and jeans almost every day.

8) I'm a terrible housekeeper and can only cook about 3 things. :D

Now I tag you:

I don't actually tag anyone on these things (I don't mind being tagged, I just am actually too shy to do it to anyone else LOL) - if you watch me and you want to continue it just for a little diversion, have at it! :D

  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: New and FREE Nine Inch Nails - Discipline
  • Reading: My numerous law books
  • Eating: Junk food
